FREE WEEklY CHI KUNG (QIGONG) CLASSES IN GOODALE PARK

Darryl and Ro-z Mendelson have been teaching a free weekly one hour beginners Qigong (Chi Kung) class in Goodale Park (just northwest of the Gazebo, west of the pond). The classes will start up again in April. The class will consist of easy to learn movements ranging from meditative to more active.

Chi (Qi) – Can mean “breath”, but a more accurate term is Vital Energy, Internal Energy or Life Force.

Chi Kung (Qigong) is the science and practice of cultivating the body’s internal energy (which the Chinese have been researching for the last four thousand years). It helps develop energy, promote health and physical coordination, prevent illness and achieve mental and physical peace. It is the practice of nurturing the body’s inner knowledge and a way to help the practitioner understand the laws of the universe and how they influence human life. There are hundreds of different forms of Chi Kung (Qigong). They can be internal or external and range from passive to more active. Selected easy to learn movements from different forms will be shown. These will include 18 Movement Qigong (Shi Ba Shi), Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade (Ba Duan Jin) and 5 Animal Frolics (Wu Qin Xi).

Classes will resume in April.
